Dead Beat Descendant
It was on the first album I got, and is the first song on it, so it has stuck with me.
I need more Fall stuff.

I considered this as my favourite Fall song.
The other day I read an old Mark Prindle review where he talked about how boring this song is and I immediately wondered if this was a not very well regarded song within the Fall's canon. Good to see other people also think this is a classic.
Dragnet is such a bizarro record to this day. The band as it was then completely nailed Smith's vision of a 'Country & Northern' bar band. This song in particular. "The streets are full of mercenary eyes". Great stuff.

Hey! Student.
Yeah, I know. I'm still working through my collection of Fall stuff, so I suppose that's subject to change.

top five:
Frightened
C'n'C-S Mithering
New Face In Hell
Psykick Dancehall No. 2
Two Steps Back
favorite: probably Frightened by a nose hair. C'n'C-S Mithering/New Face In Hell are insanely close to it though.

Hexen Definitive/Strife Knot
Or maybe
Deer Park
I especially like anything from Slates or Perverted By Language, and the track Winter also.
