This is probably the best bang for the buck. 1 TB server-grade storage with a wireless router for $500? Sign me up! Totally worth it for a base station.

If this also works with PCs, I'm in.

Hmm yeah I wonder? I'd guess there wouldn't be PC-dedicated Time Machine software for PC, but it might still work as a wireless 'server' I guess.

This, to me too, was the best announcement from the keynote. Glossed over in a few minutes, too.

you can access the hard drive without time machine. it's just a hard drive with a wireless connection (and 3 ethernet inputs).

Would now be a bad time to buy a new macbook pro? I am needing a new laptop and i was eyeing up the 15 inch mofo.

I dont keep up with all this mac stuff so i would like to know from those that do so i dont wind up doing what i did with my ipod. I bought an 80gb ipod video and then less then a month latter the 160 came out at the same price. Sure every computer will be outdated soon enough but not that quick.

i'd say wait a month or two. follow some rumor sites, they can be quite accurate. i suggest www.macrumors.com to start. there may be some updates, such as processor and even trackpad upgrades within the next couple of months. unless minor updates aren't that important. personally, i would wait an extra month or two for a trackpad update.
