You could see my bike, were it not under our household pile of partly-disassembled bikes and bike parts that occupies the corner of the furnace room during the winter hibernation period that is typical of the species. My hoopty is a Norco hybrid, bought used for $180 five years ago and intermittently maintained since.
PROTIP: If you live in a big city, your town probably contains some bike path near the water, in an area that used to have factories and now features tourist traps and marketing firms. There are probably places where people can rent bikes in or near this area, and those places probably buy new bikes every spring and sell off their lightly-ridden stock every fall. I scored my chariot, nicely maintained and with very little wear, for way less than half the retail price from such a shop.

Cause it's a Surly Instigator, which means you sold it BEFORE you cracked it.
Consider yourself wise.

where have you seen them crack, front or rear end? I didn't have it that long, but it did take a few trips of abuse that no hardtail should have to. I've heard of older models cracking on the rear dropout disc side, but they've reinforced that since then. still, funny angles going on in the dropout area...

37I love the Chris King shit. I had a threaded CK headset for awhile affixed to a Soft Ride stem. Smooth...... I miss it.
