One of my favorite life episodes, that's translated into about 3,000 re-tellings,
was at the hands of shrooms and a lot of booze. The story involves an EMT-themed
party, Thanksgiving, and a shortage of glassware that confounded all who attempted
to solve it.

It's such a nice drug.
So much "cleaner" than acid or ecstacy.
So much easier to maintain your cool around regular folk.
So much easier to maintain your mind.
I think the awful taste of this stuff makes it quite easy for me to never overdo it.
Then again, I used to be able to eat acid and run errands and whatnot.
Last time I ate some, my friend Matt and I watched Raising Arizona with the sound off so we could enjoy Tabula Rasa by Arvo Pärt.

Haven't done it since college but it was my drug of choice back then...it didn't lethally fucking depress me the next day like acid invariably did. Listening to Windowlicker when it came out and I saw white garbage bags on top of a dumpster morph into a polar bear. That was kind of fun. No way I would do it now though.

Best drug ever. I'm 32 and still eat them from time to time.

I did shrooms for about 6 months when I was 20. I had a series of really awesome trips which ultimately led up to an incident where I ended up eating shrooms before a Bennigans employee Christmas party, never did the fucking things again.

This summer came, 6 years later, and a co-worker of mine has had these mushroom chocolates, which are very good and don't taste like cowshit. I tried it once again. Not bad, nice to have when you're camping or hiking in the moutains. Like marijuana, it's not something I can do when I'm going to be around other people, but it's far from being crap.

I don't understand "too old for drugs." I love shrooms and still take them when given the chance. By far my favorite psychedelic.

A roommate of mine scored a huge bag of shrooms in Colorado and mailed them back to us to await his return home. We spent a couple of months tripping at least once a week. One Saturday, we had 6 people over, all shrooming balls. One of them, Jeff, had smoked weed twice and otherwise avoided any drugs. He was wound a bit tight. In retrospect, it probably wasn't very nice to fuck with him. But shit, I was pretty fucked up and it made me laugh.

For some reason, we had this ghetto Santa Claus beard hanging on the bulletin board in the kitchen. It was just cotton balls glued to a frame made of a coat hanger and it hung over your ears. Completely random and inexplicable.

Jeff had gone upstairs to my dark bedroom to lay on the bed and try to cope with this entirely new sensation. I donned the Santa beard, ran into the room, and began violently humping the corner of the bed, screaming "I'VE GOT A PRESENT FOR YOUR CHIMNEY! I'VE GOT A PRESENT FOR YOUR CHIMNEY!"

All in all, he handled it well. About an hour later, he came downstairs, visibly shaken, and began drumming his fingers on the coffee table. "So when is this supposed to end?", he asked over and over. Poor fucker.




And why were you lunatics on the first page drinking cough syrup that contains guaifinesin? Of course you threw up. Is Robo with only DXM not available outside the US? And 3 or 4 bottles?! Jesus christ.

One 8 oz. bottle and I turn into an iguana with a zoetrope for a brain.

i dunno.
i think i need some distance from them for a few years. i am still cringing from my conduct when i was a teen. lost too many friends, jobs and god knows how much money chasing rainbows. makes me shiver even thinking about it most of the time.

I've been cosmically and monumentally fortunate in that I've taken a shitload of drugs and never once had a bad trip (I'm nearly 35). Not even close to one. I think my brain, and my general outlook, just naturally mesh nicely with getting completely sideways. I have a natural curiosity about psychonautical exploration, but without being either grossly irresponsible or so twee and goofy as to use phrases like "psychonautical exploration."

I would like to note that under the influence of the percocet I'm on, I initially read this as "I'VE GOT A PRESENT FOR YOU MR. CHENEY!" The relative merit of such aphasia is left to the reader.
