I'd like to see everyone in the Rock Band and Guitar Hero distribution chain (e.g., inventors, coders, promoters, retailers, users, MTV) get publicly fistfucked by an army of spike-fisted fistfuckers.
I'm on record for all time as stating that this is some unbelievably hateable bullshit.
At what point do things stop getting worse?

33I'll second:
Shellac- Did we deserve...
John Coltrane - Ascension
But also:
Earth - Teeth Of Lions Rule The Divine
Charles Bronson - The Kids Are Gonna Stick Together
Negative Approach - Pressure
Frank Zappa - Yo Momma
John Cale/Lamonte Young - Day Of Niagara
Barnes and Barnes - Fish Heads
I'm an asshole.

I'm as nostalgic as a toilet seat.
I just want things to stop getting worse.

35In the seventh grade my class had to do an airband to a song of our choosing. Bopping out in my friend's basement to Sum 41's "Fat Lip" was such a positive and thrilling experience for me that it made me pick up a guitar for real.
I can guarantee to you that there are plenty of kids out there who played Rock Band, liked the idea and picked up guitar. Similarly, and I understand this might shock you so if you have a drink in your hand you'll want to set it down for a moment, there are actual musicians out there - myself included - who have an absolute blast playing Rock Band.
When I want to feel like a badass cowboy, I don't put on a ten-gallon hat and a gun and prance around in front of a mirror. I watch The Wild Bunch. I could sit in my basement and strum a guitar, which I do on a fairly regular basis, or I can take a half-hour that would have been time to myself anyways and use my Xbox to pretend that more than about forty people give a fuck about my band. It's a pretty good feeling, and it's basically the reason I play video games to begin with; that is, to enjoy myself.
All that said, I'd give my left nut for some Sloan songs in there.

37Oh, and Guitar Hero IV has a songwriting mode. Just something to chew on.
