Speaking at the tenth anniversary party of his show, "Hardball", Matthews was critical of the Bush Administration, claiming that the Administration had been "caught in criminality." He did not specify what such "criminality" consisted of. During the same speech, he stated that the Administration had "pressured" his "bosses" in an attempt to silence him.[15]

LIMBAUGH: [W]e don't often have guests on this program, but we made an exception, here, for our friend, Tim Russert of NBC News and we -- Tim? How are you, first off. Nice to have you with us. It's a real pleasure.

RUSSERT: It's an honor to be here, Rush. Thank you very much.

[...]

LIMBAUGH: When you get to your rank, succession become[s] something that's often discussed. You will eventually become president of the news division of NBC. Who will you hire to replace you as the moderator at N -- at Meet the Press?

RUSSERT: ...I -- if I got hit by a truck tomorrow, I -- who -- who would take -- who should take over? That's a good question. What do you think, Rush?

LIMBAUGH: [laughs] I haven't thought about it. In all candor. That's why I asked you. You are such a fixture. I don't see anybody else in that chair.

RUSSERT: Well, thanks, I -- I mean, I --

LIMBAUGH: I -- I actually don't --

RUSSERT: -- should I nominate you?

LIMBAUGH: Look, Tim, I appreciate [laughter] -- that would fly. That -- you ought to try it, Tim, see how long those 12 years last you at NBC. [laughter] Anyway, this has been fun. I always enjoy talking to you, and I appreciate our relationship over the years.

Cry me a fucking river.
Are you stupid? That just sounds like meaningless talk show banter to me. It's not like he's promising Rush the job.

Brave stand to take when Bush's approval rating is so low. Sinking ships...

Fuck him.

Tim Russert however seemed a good guy. Never watched him so much but got my dad his book for Father's Day. I read some of it and it made me teary. Don't know his politics save the snarky shit I saw on the Daily Show.

Death at 58 should be reserved for pill popping sex tourists like Limbaugh.

He's a possible Bush-lover who died prematurely and suddenly and probably left behind a bunch of people who loved him and never got a chance to say "goodbye." If the worst thing that he ever did was go on television and have a bias towards George W. Bush then honestly good for him because that sort of thing would be the least of my worries if I died tomorrow.

Get your dick out of your brain, champ.

I used to watch Meet the Press a lot - kinda got out of the habit lately. I used to think he was a little easy on his guests - although not as bad as others. I heard one of the commentators today say that this was on purpose - he didn't want to create a confrontational show, and that he trusted his viewers to be able to make their own judgements.

Anyway - he seemed like a good guy who came from a blue-collar background. It will be odd to see that show without him anchoring.

It's not so much about what was said (except for Rush calling him "our friend"), it's the fact that Russert voluntarily and happily was a guest on the fucking nazi Rush Limbaugh show. Anybody who is friendly with that asshole is a douchebag.

You don't even understand the meaning of the word "Nazi."

People throw it around like they know what it means.

You do not.

Go yell at people on the street about what douchebags they are, big guy.
