Listening To Radiohead Again: What do you nerds think?

i was in high school when pablo honey came out, and i was really hoping those guys died in some kind of horrible accident. even later when OK Computer came out, and friends of mine were telling me how great it was, i just couldn't believe them.

BUT, i have to say, when i listened to Kid A i totally changed my mind. the synthesizers in that record just will not be ignored. they basically fuck you up the ass, repeatedly. it's like having your feet encased in cement and being thrown off a pier.

i didn't really pay attention to the records that came after that though. short attention span.

While I understand the haters' reactions (I thought that the "smiths + pink floyd" equation, while reductive, does work pretty well for a good chunk of their catalog), Kid A is still a great record and an accomplishment to be proud of. I know they basically synthesized a lot of their influences in one place on that record, but it's still great.

One thing, though: I doubt if Radiohead would have sounded the same without Brian Eno's vocal albums.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.
