The future will be like now but with louder and brighter TVs.

Cell Phones will be built into the three inner ear bones and as soon as they fix the fuel/energy problem get ready for the biggest fucking SUVs you can't even fathom.

People will cease to have tangible currency and you will be taxed more than you make... you will die owing the Government $732.44 in back taxes.

Their will be no more baseball because people will finally notice that 97% of the people playing are not doing anything 97% of the time. People will flock to the stadium to watch huge loud TVs. Friends re-runs most likely.

Reminds me of the Doctor Who episode "Rise of the Cybermen" from Series 2, where everyone is wearing those "earpods."

Wikipedia wrote:The Doctor and Rose discover that most of the population of this universe wear special "EarPods", devices that, when activated by a signal, download massive amounts of news and information directly to the wearer's brain

It was used twice, just 65 years without a week from now, and there are thousands bombs like that, but way more powerful (like, 10.000 more) waiting to explode. Just 65 years ago.
I know that cold war is over and all that, but I can't think about about future of human kind and not think of that. There is enough of a-h-n-andwhatever-bombs to kill every human being like 100 times or so. It just can't be a good thing.
I remember a talk I had with my brother, after reading some articles we were wondering how much bombs would be needed to kill everyone instantly in Poland, and there Europe. We were doing this cause one of us read a 'chart' saying what's the instant-dead zone of the most powerful bomb, without taking any radiation effects into account (we presumed there is a large number of bombs like that, which doesn't have to be true). I don't remember the number for Europe, but for Poland it was 4 or 6.
Like this proverb saying that a gun that hangs on the wall in the first act will surely fire in the third act. Well, that's the gun.

Not "we". You are. That's about what, 4.5% of world's population?

'We' as in America, are about to elect a black president.
From listening to the rest of the world piss and moan about America constantly you'd think it was kind of a big deal to a lot more people than just us

I got that, and it's not only Obama - tt was a race between a black man and a woman for the democratic nominate - that's great. But it doesn't me make any more optimistic about future of human kind, hence the 4.5% comment.
As for "we're about to elect a black president" - I don't know what the current polls say, but a lot of things can happen.

I'm getting a bachelor of science, major in physics soon. Given the way humanity has used energy so far I really don't feel motivated to work in energy, no matter how "green" I could help make it. Aside from jumping into electronics and audio or something, I don't see what good can come of the stuff I'm learning. Right now, running out of oil and energy seems like a good thing to have happen (aside from the inevitable acoustic folk revivals).
