i can't knock sincerity or the soul i feel from mark sandman.

also i think most bands offer to the case studies of unrealized potential and that most trios generally utilize one trick over and over. i like them for not being a standard trio.

i like the tritar, i like the slide bass, i like saxophones, i like dana colley being able to play two saxes at once. i like when they used two drummers.

i think their drummers are underrated.

i think the posthumous album "the night" got well away from the "one trick."

also i like that mark kind of looks like john stewart.

i like the atmosphere, the space and the minimalism.

not crap. at all.

i love "swing it low," "hanging on a curtain," "the night, " take me with you when you go, "gone for good," "good," "yes," "supersex."

it's not avant garde but it's certainly innovative and good.

again, not crap.

i could see hating morphine, but i don't. i think they pull off their thing maybe half the time and when they do, it's good. also, while they easily could've exhausted their potential after a few albums, the posthumous album is actually their best (though i've only heard two tracks from "like swimming"). that last album "the night", very good.

Which Treat Her Right album do you have?

I have the one with Junkyard (awesome), Big Medicine, King of Beers, etc.

I saw one other album of theirs that looked like it was just covers, so I didn't get it.

The stuff Mark sang on was, IMHO, by far the best, at least on the album I have. The other guys were on the cheesy bar band side.

some compilation on razor and tie.
