Sounds like maybe 1% of you guys heard Rocks or Toys In The Attic.
They were great until '77, stumbled a bit, then were great again with Done With Mirrors in 1985, right before the "Walk This Way" commercial mashup with Run DMC.. then I stopped paying attention from Permanent Vacation and on.
Not Crap. Zero Waffles.
Now, I don't think Aerosmith were the greatest, but the huge CRAP ratio here is really embarrassing for EA forums, especially given so many other crappy bands that have gotten far more "Not Crap"s. Someone should hire a committee to look into this.

Done with mirrors is a horrible, horrible record

Not true. I was going to post this in the "Songs You've Covered" thread, but one of my bands covered "My Fist, Your Face" from that record.
Five years later in a different band, someone yelled at me "you were in that band that did "My Fist, Your Face" here before!"
However, that album was not flawless, so I see what you mean. "Let The Music Do The Talking" was done better by the Joe Perry Project originally, and "Sheila" is the only other decent song I can remember from that particular album.
"No Surprize" from 79 and "Lightning Strikes" from 82 are a couple of good songs.

34One good album, "Toys in the Attic". I enjoyed that until I turned 20. After that, fuck 'em. Such crap. Scarves on the mic stand. "Love in an elevator". Poopy crap.
"The American Rolling Stones". Ha ha.
"The American Rolling Stones". Ha ha.

35The ratio on this band really is criminal. I'm glad to see that so many people are coming to Aerosmith's defense in the twilight of '06.

I am REALLY REALLY sorry, I know this is a criminal forum offense, and it is the only time I will commit it on this forum, but I have to come to the defense of my favorite band.
Yes, they sucked in the 80's (barring Pump, which if you watch "Making of..", Joe obviously is talking through his teeth when he says he can't wait to work with the producer again after awhile)...
Yes, they've become overproduced radio-friendly saps.
Yes, they're older than Methuselah
Yes, Steven Tyler's style can be grating...
But...
One listen to "Rats in the Cellar" "Draw the Line"
"Sick as a Dog"
"Mama Kin"
"Back in the Saddle"
I think that gives them license.
NOT CRAP
Bias factor here because I'm a hardcore fan.

I can't believe Aerosmith received a heavy CRAP vote and Tom Petty didn't.

agreed, if you're a bassplayer who never had a sneaking desire to play this, you're probably not a very good bassplayer, certainly not a very fun one.

Fuck, I'm agreeing with TDF again
I was listening to this song the other day, and thinking how awesome it is. But frankly, any song with the lines
[quot]Some sweat hog mama with a face like a gent
Said my get up and go musta got up and went[/quote]
has got to be a winner.
