Just picked up Bill Callahan's Diamond Dancer single. I can't think of many other guys/gals out there that are this consistently good/surprising. Just when you think he's resting on his laurels, he's got something else up his sleeve.

the one time i saw Smog live, he noticed someone in the crowd with a video camera. between two songs, he said "you with the camera, what do you think this is, a family vacation?"

I like Smog's music, some of it quite a lot.
The one time I saw him live though my friends and I felt unmistakably let down. That night he just wasn't into -- he looked genuinely depressed -- and the audience had a few too many borderline-assholes in its midst (a bad combination).

I got "Rain on Lens" via itunes--who are the players on this record? Specifically the guitar player?
