I got mine, too, but I'm missing Antonio Negri speak at the Serpentine on the same night. Branca will be be better, I'm sure.

Long before the advent of Youtube, which enabled me to behold his conducting antics, I really, really enjoyed his music, even without having much of an idea of how visually spectacular his performances were.

The Ascension and Symphony #6 remain my personal favorites.

If Cage's criticism is taken as that of an audience member, instead of as coming from on high, it's nothing to get excited about. Branca's the one who made a mountain out of a molehill.

Further, releasing a 19-minute interview with someone who has been dead for 15 years so you can argue with him in the liner notes? Branca must be a petty guy.

I like the music fine.

I saw this duo play a few years ago supporting Sonic Youth at the latter's "Goodbye 20th Century" concert in the Royal Festival Hall. They (Branca and partner) made a gorgeous, sweeping roar. When they finished, I realised how useful this all-encompassing speedway noise was, as it became evident that a bunch of drunk Sonic Youth fans' heckles became evident. Same said drunk Sonic Youth fans later berated Sonic Youth for not playing the hits on a concert advertised as experimental. Idiots.

I am very sad to miss this gig on the 12th.
