The always-handy-to-have-around Boss LS-2 will let you run two parallel loops. It can take care of the splitting to stereo and summing back to mono.

Since I know that peeps were pretty amped about this thread, it seems to me like this pedal does almost exactly what some of you are/were talking about. The sound is at around 4:37. The one catch is that there is definitely some reverb in play that I'd guess you cannot dial out.
