My earplugs. If push came to shove, I could keep playing music without my favorite hi-hats or snare, but there's no way I would do that without earplugs. Plus, who buys used ear plugs?Honest answer: None of my gear is sacred. Sure, I've spent a ton of time and money chasing the tone dragon like a lot of folks here, but I could easily replace anything I have in 48 hours on Craigslist. Plus, if we're being totally honest: my playing would sound like me -- for better or worse -- on a $70 pawn shop drum set.I certainly understand keeping gear with sentimental attachment, but nothing I own qualifies.

brass dw 14x6.5 snare i've had forever. pre-collector's era, and lots of people shit talk them, but it sounds great. my first nice snare. also, i took it on almost every tour i went on, so it looks like it came from the Titanic. still used often on projects I recordnoble and cooley 14x7 solid maple snare - got this for a song via musicgoround and am never selling this. best sounding snare i've ever heard and my favorite to play/record with.90s tama starclassic birch shells (not the performer). the finish is a little beat, but was a steal on craigslist and i've never heard a kick that sounds better.sovtek mig60. bought it off a friend for dirt cheap in 1999. used on a lot of records, for a lot of my own bands and sent it out on a lot of tours. it's a tank.

Talking about this w/ my gf the other day, I was torn on if there are any of my guitars I wouldn't part with. I came down to either my 90's LP Studio w/ P90s or the PRF Raffle EGC Tyranny. The LP is my favorite guitar I've owned, but the Tyranny to me represents the support and community of the best parts of the forum. The LP is beat to shit, so I can't imagine I'd get much for it. So if it was a selling situation I'd move the Tyranny, if it's grabbing from a fire I'd save the Tyranny. Will get more conflicted whenever I finally get my EGC Series 2 guitar!tallchris wrote:My MIJ early 90's '62 P-Bass. First bass I ever bought when I started playing bass in 2003, it's been on almost every record I've made. Totally beat to hell, and I really need to replace the electronics and throw a Fralin or Lollar in there.Travis Bean TB2000. Only got this two years ago, but it's the only bass I've played since then. Sounds amazing, plays great, already was pretty worn and I've only put more wear into it. I used to say I'd never sell my EGC bass w/ the TB2000 style body, but this bass ALMOST makes me tempted to sell the EGC.'64 AA864 Bassman. Best clean sounding guitar amp I've played through, and it's FANTASTIC with bass into a 1x15. Bass channel modded so it's closer to a MV Marshall, so I could reasonably get by if I sold my JMP 2204 and JTM45.Ben Adrian Kowloon Walled Bunny & Ratmussen. Awesome pedals made by an awesome dude who doesn't make 'em anymore. The only pedals that I wouldn't part with.I own lots of other rad stuff, but it's either reasonably replaceable or I don't have much sentimental value attached to it.

llllllllllllllllllllllll wrote:but I can t imagine selling my EGC Standard or Balls AC30. They re relatively new acquisitions but I do feel sort of sentimental about them.I probably won't ever sell My Balls AC30 either. 1) I really, really like it. 2) resale value on custom-built amps isn't great.
