What's On Your Dream Pedal Board?

Thinking this over, "Dream" for me is stuff from over the years that I have been a fan of that are now "Non-Starters".- The Initial Electro-Harmonix 16 Second Delay. Apparently, the reissue is largely a looper because it got to the point that repairs to the old ones became tough to do.- The Digitech PDS-8000 Eight Second Digital Delay. See above. When Digitech's new "In The Blue Box" series of loopers came out, folks started asking out this pedal. The Digitech folks came right out and said that an "Apples" to "Apples" reissue of the PDS-8000 was impossible because the old chips were no longer made. It turns up at around 18:50 in this video...- The Digitech Brian May Red Special Pedal. This is a really big one. It would pipe whatever you played into it through a set a "Brian May's Various Studio..." sounds. Playing Tom Scholz guitar parts through this thing was priceless. Plugged it in one day. Powers up doesn't pass signal. I used it on this tune from the old "MKI" Challenge...https://prfsongwritingchallenge.bandcamp.com/track/pheasant-pastry-processionIf I could have "Future Proof" versions of those pedals, I would be way psyched. Each of those and a few direct boxes made out of Tascam 424MKII microphone preamps, and I would be set.

According to Nels Cline, the reissues suck. While I get what he's saying, I don't know that saying "Suck..." is a fair criticism. It would be like saying that an Big Muff sucked because EHX decided to stuff a Tube Screamer design in a "Big Muff" enclosure with the Big Muff name on it.It's not entirely fair to a reasonable useful design(which the reissue actually is) to dog it because it's not faithful version of a design that may no longer be workable. Get it, but it's a complaint that's on odd footing. That said, yep. Would be great just to see someone use an original up close. Never mind getting to own a fairly "Future Proof..." one.

Also, I think the Mooer pedals may be relay bypass. In addition, they had added a Russian Pickle to the line.If someone were to look around, I'd imagine you could pick either one up used for under a hundred.

llllllllllllllllllllllll wrote:Why the relay bypass? Does it not make a click or something?I sure hope thats not the reason. There are plenty of ways to make a latched switch not click. I presumed it was for reliability. Momentary switches are far more reliable than latched ones, but you need a relay setup or a buffered flip-flop (Boss style) to implement them.
