Oh good, there is Joe Becker art on this one after all; it's just on the wrong side. I was sort of bummed about the front cover.
EDIT: Just noticed the vinyl isn't expected to ship until November, nearly three months after official release date. :-\ Tough times since the Apollo fire, I guess?

smh at the "crap" votes here
Also - since there are no doubt a couple of Drones fans here - I have to relate that Mike Noga passed about a year ago.
Re: Band: Tropical Fuck Storm
34At one point on the song, in one breath Liddiard rails against radicals at both ends of the spectrum: “Nazis hate Pinkos hate MAGAts in the park” he sings. “One side is going crazy ‘bout the way you look/ and the other side does it for looks." Liddiard explains: "If it’s anti-anybody it would be the extremes. The extreme right, the extreme left, they seem to give each other life.”A_Man_Who_Tries wrote: Fri Jul 16, 2021 2:15 am https://thequietus.com/articles/30209-t ... a-kitschin
Fucking dumb. This is terminal online brain. I haven't really heard anything from this band that's swayed me away from indifference, but that interview might have done it. This guy sounds like a dipshit. "I absorb the shock and the shame a lot better when it comes from women.” Fuuuck off. And that story about the legal ghost song? So, wait a minute, a guy kills himself by jumping in front of a train setting up a child custody nightmare that ground down the ex-parter (who this Liddiard guy was then dating) to the point of also killing herself and this guy kinda humble-brags about his trauma and then flat-out brags about the song that came out of it? That might not be the kindest reading of that part of the interview, but goddamn if the procession of details and inserted quotes don't make him sound like a douche.

35hmmm, I didn't find any of that too objectionable, especially as it sounds like he was mostly shooting the shit with an open bottle of wine. Clunky at times, sure.
hah.. maybe he read that on some archived version of the lost PRF. Thankfully the lefty bro one-upmanship has been absent from v2 so far.“The other day someone accused me of being a centrist,” Liddiard says. “What the fuck!”

38I don’t worship them, but they certainly have my respect and admiration.m3kcomp wrote: Wed Jul 21, 2021 7:46 pm It feels like a prank the way people worship this band here.
I recommend listening to Wait Long By the River... by the Drones and then listen to Feelin’ Kinda Free, also by the Drones. Then listen to Meatspace by TFS. Then listen to Mod Con.
This band, whether you like them or not, have their thumbs in a lot of interesting pies. They have a long history of doing really cool shit. If you’re starting with TFS, then I can understand how you might be scratching your head. They don’t always get it perfect, but when they do, it’s a force. They’re one helluva live band.
I’m sure the new one will be the lesser of the three over the last four years, but so what. They do it their way.

39What's good is great, and what isn't is tripe. Very little middle ground. Would be a brilliant EP band for sure.

40Agreed, I think they have a handful of songs that I'm not completely sold on, mostly on the back half of Braindrops, but all-in-all I really dig them. Gala Mill is also a worthy listen by the Drones.Dave N. wrote: Thu Jul 22, 2021 12:39 amI don’t worship them, but they certainly have my respect and admiration.m3kcomp wrote: Wed Jul 21, 2021 7:46 pm It feels like a prank the way people worship this band here.
