I used to love Styx when I was a kid. Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight, Paradise, even Kilroy. Then punk came along and that was it for me with Styx, U2, Rush for a bit. I feel like since the early aughts or so Rush has become pretty acceptable for old punks to admit to liking, but poor old Styx is still out of fashion.

I was gonna write a whole thing about DeYoung being too syrupy and tin pan alley for Styx to get respect as a rockin band, but he kind of ruled, and why does Styx need to be anything than what they were? Anyway I'm totally putting on Caught in the Act now, thanks!

JA was good. They were of a time and place but were a good band.
