I thought about putting them on my list, but I haven't been interested in their last few albums (Bottomless Pit aside), plus their whole "tour's on, tour's off, we broke up, we reformed" bullshit was/is irritating.

Adding my name to the long list of people mentioning Pile. Destroyer probably has my favorite body of 2000s-and-on work, but started in the 90s so not sure whether or not it's in the spirit of this thread. Big ones for me are:

Cindy Lee
Nicolas Jaar
Laurel Halo
Tim Hecker
Frank Ocean
Grouper
Croatian Amor
Spirit of the Beehive
Oneohtrix Point Never
Dirty Beaches/Alex Zhang Hungtai
Jessy Lanza

goes on and on

Yes.

Based on the rest of their output, I don't rate them here, but Henge Beat? Easily a top-5-record-of-the-21st-century-so-far.

Yes. Cindy Lee.

I've been listening to a duo out of Poland called Nac/Hut Report. Their latest, Dom 1919, gives me the same melancholy, but otherworldly vibe as Cindy Lee. It's great.

Typical System is good. Laughing at the System not so much. Their singles SLAY. You can pay for a DL of all of their singles on their bandcamp page, and I highly recommend you do.

Related to Total Control:

Rank/Xerox (PRF related also, IIRC)
Rat Columns
Eddy Current Suppression Ring
UV Race

Also will add:

Sia
Lorde
The Horrors
Diat
Disappears
Chromatics
Circuit des Yeux
Yves Tumour
FKA Twigs
Young Thug
Future
Frank Ocean
Earl Sweatshirt
Lil' B
The Internet
The Great Sadness
Have a Nice Life
Giles Corey
Black Wing
Colleen
Holly Herndon
Clinic (very late 90s, first LP in 2000 I think)
Liars
Gang Gang Dance
Psychic Ills (first few releases)
Peter Kardas - I Saw You (recorded in 1987 but not released until 2018, he was a member of Robert Fripp's League of Crafty Guitarists. It's a fantastic record)
Actress
Mount Kimbie
The Knife
Fever Ray
Tim Hecker
Antony & the Johnsons
Migos
SND
Purity Ring

Yeah, that's all I have for 21 years.
