Atomizer is the only Big Black record I own outright, so my perspective is limited.
But back when I was in college in 1989, I was a DJ over the summer at the college radio station. The station manager wanted all the DJs to record a brief memory of the record that influenced them the most, and I chose Atomizer. I don't recall what I said – probably something boring and insignificant.
My record collection has evolved, but that record opened up a world of music I might not have listened to had I not been exposed to the guitar sounds Steve and Santiago created.
