Not my favorite, but I've been enjoying the pre-Sara stuff recently that was on the Kid Is Gone box. The earliest stuff is interesting juvenilia (though "Bionic" was actually the first Unwound song I ever heard on the IPU live 2xLP comp), and the self-titled record is pretty great. Kinda a perfect mix of Bleach-era Nirvana and Rites of Spring.

I was pleased to see how many people in the crowd appeared to be dancing in the videos of their recent show. As someone who saw the Kung Fu pit of the late 90's hardcore scene and just wished everyone would chill out a little I think the pendulum in the broader rock scene has swung too far the other way. A visceral physical response to visceral music enhances the atmosphere without needing to be macho, violent or dangerous.

I wish I could go dance to Unwound!

2nd night was just as great, heck maybe a smidge better?

They're doing the Burma thing and playing two sets, which honestly I wish more bands did! It's nice to have a little break, get another drink/talk to a bud/go outside for toke of your choice/etc.

First set was the same both nights (and looks like at the warm up show last weekend as well). Second set was different though had the same (fucking astounding) finale. Will be curious if they have a different 2nd set cooked up for any of the three night stands.

Sara and Justin seem to be playing at a new peak, Jared sounds great, Scott on 2nd guitar mostly just fills in but adds some of the 2nd guitar parts from the records where needed.

If you're at all a fan, I think it's really worth your time to see this tour. I hope they do more!
