This really is useful and its mere existence helps build the myth of airwindows but Chris really should be making official documentation for this stuff. Even transcribing his rambling videos would be better than this!

Haha, it is the programmers' mindset. "Let them work out Unix themselves" I think that Chris is Honestly to busy building new awesome plugins to go meta. He has always said that he is happy for others to do so. It did my head in at first, but now the complete lack of promo is something that I find refreshing. It's kind of like a gentle invitation if one is interested.

Martin Walker has a nice write-up of using the Console plugins over here. I'm honestly not convinced I properly understand this yet, but it went into my (fairly smooth) brain a lot easier than some of the videos have, and the audio examples towards the end provided some of the clearest / most appealing examples I've yet heard of what this stuff can do.

This is great. There's so many utilities in airwindows, it's really as overwhelming as it is impressive. The cheat sheet has been really helpful, but in depth stuff like this is really necessary. Thank you for sharing.

Still going to write that quick/dirty Airwindows primer, but speaking of Console, for that primer I've been trying intermittently to get my mathematics PhD gf to walk me through the Alternate Summing Math (i.e. not the slew limiting and other tone coloration) that Chris shared for the first PurestConsole write-up. And if I can kind of help her understand the audible effects of using a Console system, I think I can come up with a nice "explain like I'm five" rundown to include.

Hi dfglv, and thanks for the positive vibes about my Airwindows Console write-up!

I did wonder why a clutch of people had been visiting my website from here.

Now I not only know, but have joined The New and Improved Electrical Audio Forum so I can investigate all the other fascinating threads on here (I'm already loving 'How we make experimental noise' and 'DIY on-board guitar modules and weird sound stuff.')
