Oh yeah, I think you'll notice some improvement with either the Mono Betty or even the Couch straps.Owen wrote: Mon Oct 25, 2021 11:57 am
Might dick around with a better strap. Mine is just a simple nylon.
Glad you're holding on to it!

That's the only thing that kept me from buying those sharp looking double cutaways Yamaha makes. I'm sure I'd wind up with a forearm blister after an enthusiastic set.MoreSpaceEcho wrote: Mon Oct 25, 2021 9:21 amSeriously. I don't know how anyone plays guitars without forearm contours, but obviously loads of people do, so that's just me.biscuitdough wrote: Sun Oct 24, 2021 8:11 pm Neither of those are the lightest or most ergonomic options in the world of wood, either.
Thanks FMs Jason From Volo, Losthighway, MoreSpaceEcho, and Garth. You managed to….Dave N. wrote: Sat Oct 23, 2021 8:21 pm Eyeing a new 2021 MIA Fender Precision. I’ve been playing a high-end 2009 MIM Precision for 12 years, and it has served me well. Upgrade the old, or buy the new?
Yeah I don't think this is a perfume-on-a-pig situation. MIM basses are usually quite good right off the rack and if you've had it for this long, I'm sure you picked a good one or you'd have ditched it already. This I think is one of the most important considerations when deciding on whether or not to tune-up/upgrades...and if you're still lusting a shiny new one, it's not like you're out a lot.Dave N. wrote:Gonna sink a couple hundred into my MIM.Dave N. wrote: Sat Oct 23, 2021 8:21 pm Eyeing a new 2021 MIA Fender Precision. 20 years ago I heard a joke about LA that was adapted to fit Austin: All you have to do is swing a guitar and you’ll hit someone with a shit band.Dave N. wrote: Tue Oct 26, 2021 11:27 amThanks FMs Jason From Volo, Losthighway, MoreSpaceEcho, and Garth. TALK!
ME!
OUT OF IT!
Gonna sink a couple hundred into my MIM. I just need to find the right time, since everyone with a guitar and a dream is moving to Austin and backlogging the repair shops.
I would probably advise mounting with a Vibramate, or not at all.Dudley wrote: Tue Nov 30, 2021 12:23 pm My Tele Custom is maybe my favourite sounding guitar - great stock bridge p/up, and a Creamery WRHB.
Talk me out of putting a Bigsby on it.
And if you can't, give me some shit about paying extra for the no-drill Vibramate mounting.
Can you give me a bit more detail? Tone, action, fit of Bigsby...?brownreasontolive wrote: Tue Nov 30, 2021 12:42 pm I've never been super happy with the results from an aftermarket Bigsby install.
I love me a Bigsby, but I would be terrified of fucking with a guitar that is your favorite sounding guitar. That's just me though.Dudley wrote: Tue Nov 30, 2021 12:23 pm My Tele Custom is maybe my favourite sounding guitar - great stock bridge p/up, and a Creamery WRHB.

Why do you want a bigsby? they aren't as cool as they seem, unless you're really into them.Dudley wrote: Tue Nov 30, 2021 12:23 pm My Tele Custom is maybe my favourite sounding guitar - great stock bridge p/up, and a Creamery WRHB.
