Holy smokes thanks for posting this. I am digging into their stuff that's on streaming now and it rules. I am sure I heard the name of this band in a Bomp catalog or something when I was a youth but never bothered to track it down.

I won this 45 at an outdoor fair in my hometown of Whiting IN when I was 7 or 8 years old. Apparently The Endd were a local NW Indiana band who put out four singles on Seascape Records, which has an address in LaPorte! The song is a great Yardbirds knockoff psychedelic garage rock nugget. Wish I'd taken better care of it; a clean copy of the 45 now fetches around $300.

Well I'll be damned. I played that 45 so many times it's got some deep roots in my head. The original sounds like the cover. The Banshees' version sounds more like the Sonics, The Endd's version is slicker with cool guitar effects.

When I wrote that post in 2021 the record was going for $300, now someone has it up on Discogs for five times that amount.

That's the cool thing with the regionality of music back then - local/regional hits, misses & covers. The Banshees version has been on a lot of garage comps through the years, whereas other songs by The Endd usually made it to comps. A good collector friend of mine has wanted a copy of The Banshees for years, but it really does not turn up often.

The high asking price on discogs is from one seller with rare stuff from all over the world, asking outlandish prices (possibly scammy). Either way, both versions are rare records that fetch several hundo in nice shape.

Bottom line is it's a really cool song!
