Chris Cornell had an awesome voice. Glad he used it to sing/wail.

I can get someone not liking Soundgarden, and I can get someone not liking Chris Cornell's voice, but I can't get somebody not liking Soundgarden because of Chris Cornell's voice. It's the perfect fit.

It's a perfect fit unless you hate his wailing cock rock vocals. Instrumentally, they're not wailing cock rock. That's the split for some people.

I reckon there's a line between wailing and cock rock, and he's on the side of the former. Still, takes all sorts.

No accounting for taste. I wouldn't say the vocals don't work with the music -- high melodic register over low/heavy instrumentation, it works. It's just that I don't want to hear his singing, it doesn't move me, and I don't enjoy it.

Here's another one who couldn't get past the vocals. I found some of the music interesting, but the voice was just painful to my ears. In later years when I saw live clips on YouTube his voice was even more painful to listen to.
