Re: Sell me some current Hip-Hop

Have been listening to Mach-Hommy a tonne lately. Haitian-American recluse/mystery. Has worked with Earl Sweatshirt a bit, who produced one of his records.

All his albums and projects seem to be fragments of a greater whole, but "Pray for Haiti" is a good entry point.

Two very different tracks from it. The second makes me want to cry.

"They say I'm a criminal. Look, I'm not a criminal. They are the criminals, Those people are the criminals."

billy woods's aethiopes is astonishing.

I need to give it more time. i really loved Hiding Places and this seems a bit tame in comparison, but i definitely need to give it more time.

The first song and the one you posted immediately stood out to me.

There's little melodic things throughout it that reminds me of Company Flow a lot, which i feel weird about saying. The third song especially. I can't stop focusing on it and it's clouding my judgement.

Vince Staples also released a new record. I've not had a chance to listen properly yet.

Musically it's not very interesting, love everything he's done before it though.
I never really gave the self titled album from last year a chance. It's worthwhile? I didn't really like FM!

New woods growing on me more and more. He has a way of spitting that indicates he has seen things.
