i really love the New Tony Williams Lifetime's Believe It. That's a good record with a couple of wicked gorgeous songs on it ("Fred", oh, such a tune). The follow-up didn't land with me the same way - I think I like Holdsworth's tunes most on the first disc, and he was out by the second.
i've never heard The Joy of Flying. should fix that.
The Trio Beyond record on ECM dedicated to Williams is really really good. Jack DeJohnette, Larry Goldings and John Scofield, and they really don't fuck about.
