Religion is such a great refuge for those that have nothing otherwise productive to contribute to the world. It produces nothing of material consequence, just manufactured outrage and comforting lies.
It gives otherwise useless unproductive young men a sense of purpose, and then that purpose is used to derail otherwise productive lives around them.
It is incumbent upon the otherwise productive and peaceful citizens of a land to not give themselves over to the narcissistic and sociopathic religions and leaders that would use unproductive young men to advance their selfish glories.
Any future sapient AI should be programmed to recognize these types of sociopaths and their unproductive acolytes and limit their influence to the greatest degree possible.
It seems part of what brought an end to "the Troubles" was that many unproductive men got decent paying jobs, homes, kids, debt, and suddenly it was no longer so important whether they were using punts or pounds to pay for things.

Goddamn, these poor unfortunate Palestinian people who are just trying to live a decent life as second class citizens are stuck without basic necessities for an indeterminate amount of time. Also thinking of Israeli kids who just wanted to check out a concert and got shot up or abducted.
The thought of gunmen opening fire on a dance party is absolutely horrific. The brutality is unthinkable. But when you hear that Israel is now blockading food and water from reaching the Palestinians, I can understand how somebody could become so angry, at generations of your family and friends born, living and dying in this fucking prison while your captors hold a rave party on your stolen land, and wanting to inflict equivalent suffering on them. When killing Palestinians has become so routine and normalised that Israelis call it "mowing the grass", how it could make somebody want to mow their grass.
The justifiable sorrow expressed towards the poor victims in Israel stands in contrast to the routine acceptance of Israel killing hundreds of innocent Gazans this year and every year. It's ok, just a spot of light gardening, Hamas is trimming the hedge.

Point taken, but after a lifetime of hearing about these all around tragedies, because people just can't fucking learn to get along, and knowing this has been going on for a couple millennia... Sometimes I'd just like to see a goddamn asteroid impact that section of earth end end this shit once and for all.

People can get along just fine if they are allowed to. Places where everyone lives together have always been the places where science, art, culture and knowledge have flourished. Places where people are kept apart have always been the sites of atrocities.
Now that orange cunt has revived his talk of a Muslim travel ban and closing the southern border because "they are the same kind of terrorists". Russian atrocities are no bother, but the first hint of brown violence and THAT'S IT, WHITES ONLY. At this rate, we're going to need a bigger asteroid.

Daniel 7:13: "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed."
This all will have a resolution.

I also look forward to the extraterrestrial intelligence revealing itself and giving us the gift of benevolent AI.
Or the Magic Mountain Yeti coming to consume the evildoers and fill the uncertain with the pure essence of Love from his glowing white Fuzzcock.

Paradise is incompatible with nature, and therefore with existence. There is no stasis. The universe is a verb. Eternity could only exist as absence, void. Or to put it another way, heaven would get way too fucking boring after a couple hundred years. It would start to feel like purgatory.
Belief in such a paradise is ample reason to sacrifice your life for your religious/ethnic cause, then you get zionists, zealots, fundamentalists, Islamists, supremacists etc et al.

We can be sure that everything will come to an end, one way or another, eventually. Who knows how or when, although the end of the United States is getting less difficult to imagine by the day. The status quo is the status quo until it isn't.

Having a megalomaniac white supremacist owning X right now is really unfortunate. The worst right wing assholes (D'Souza, Giuliani, etc) are clogging my feed even though I keep clicking to say this crap is not relevant.
