FM penningtron's work on the two Lardo records deserves its own category.

This is a fun topic, the first two examples are favorites, and the title should almost be "The Best SYNTH riffs of all time besides Kraftwerk".

Anyway, "Chums" by FM kerble's old band Danger Adventure is a favorite:

The scousers have got this one sewn up...my head says OMD and "Souvenir", but my heart's with China Crisis on this one...

If we’re talkin’ OG post-punk type things . . .

Magazine - “Rhythm of Cruelty”
The Sound - “Party of the Mind”
The Stranglers - “Nuclear Device (The Wizard of Aus)”
Severed Heads - “Dead Eyes Opened”
New Order - “Perfect Kiss”

Could sit here all day without even delving into proper electronic music.

Never mind what #30 usually says. The fact that Europe received several mentions and Gary Numan only make makes me think you all like fun way too much.

Because “The Final Countdown” is just awful.

“Cars,” on the other hand . . .

Ok, which riff in "Cars" is better?

The main riff played in the intro/verse?

Or the bridge (?) / anti-chorus riff that is backed up by a tambourine?

I think I like the latter better.
