I have had my mind permanently destroyed by listening to the Paul Stanley stage banter tapes multiple times.
Part of the reason the banter is so funny is knowing all that buildup is followed up with wimpy, stupid Kiss songs. If the bullshit was followed up by, say Supernaut, one might begin to take it seriously.

Sung by the raspy-voiced Catman and inspired by "Maggie May," Starchild initially wrote "Hard Luck Woman" for Rod Stewart. This is a lovely, folky, mid-tempo KISS tune and one of the very few where each member of the band plays off of each other instead of showing deference to the riff as they do in so many of their classic hits. Rags, the aquatic offspring of a seafaring man, is doomed to suffer empty romance after empty romance until she realizes her worth as royalty as well as finding a partner that will compliment her in every way. Is Catman that partner? Doubtful, as he kisses her before packing his bags and bidding a sweet farewell.

But what would Supernaut played by Kiss sound like? Who will take up this challenge?
I can totally hear this. Gene on lead vocals with that crappy production that sounds like it was captured live at a Buffalo Wild Wings. I'd be game if I could get a drummer and Gene impersonator on board.
We're headed for social anarchy when people start pissing on bookstores.

I know a guy who is totally obsessed with Kiss, and through him it's been totally wild how slavishly devoted their fanbase is. He's gone on all of the Kiss Kruises, has a bonus room in his house full of his "Kiss Kollection" that is overflowing to the point where he is adding a second room, and goes to "Kiss Konventions". God knows how much money he has plowed into Gene and Paul's pockets. He went to the last two concerts at Madison Square Garden expecting some kind of massive celebration and evidently they just played the exact same setlist both nights and then revealed that the band was going to continue as avatars.

Yeah, the KISS tribute band did this one too, prompting a brief conversation about why KISS thought that Rod Steward needed somebody to write Maggie May 2 for him. Sure, rip him off by all means, but don't try to sell it back to him.

Perhaps they also had a mind to write Smells Like Teen Spirit 2 for Kurt Cobain, but the phone call didn't go so well.

No, Maggie May 2 is 'You Wear It Well', which means that KISS were even beaten to the rip off by Rod himself. Marx (either) would call that a farce.
