Oh sorry, guess I read your post wrong. Anyway I'm just playing, I'm sure you have good reasons for her having it, and like you said it's too late now!

Makes more sense than banning tobacco. It’s not like many minors lose their minds after too many Marlboros.

We would all be much better off without the fucking socials. Hot trash, the lot.

i ask myself why i still do social media when so many of my friends have quit.
i think i enjoy witnessing the train wrecks. i feel like i'm watching society collapse in slow motion.

I’m down to none again. I’ve started putting my phone in a drawer at home. Honestly I’m getting sick of it leading me around by the nose.

I think I mused about Dead Internet Theory on here a while back. With the rotting algorithm and the addition of AI slop it seems truer by the day.
About a year after everyone and their mother I realized Facebook was a graveyard and started trying to promote the band on Insta. That seems to have gotten less useful as I often don't see my friend's stuff. The whole thing seems built for people who want to go viral, when I only ever liked it for grassroots promotion and to interact with real life acquaintances.
What I wouldn't give to go back to blogs and MySpace and an internet mostly populated with the thoughts and events of real people I know.

We're quite a few years past "peak internet" now, so it makes sense that the thing is basically dying. The transition from novelty to all-encompassing to vapid cesspool is logical. My fear is that it will become sentient and destroy all life. The great sci-fi writers have all been proven quite prescient.
Turds like Musk absorb the young-boy adventure aspects without heeding the obvious warnings.

I'm sure craftier people will keep the useful parts going on a smaller scale but yeah, the big all-encompassing names have nowhere to grow from here.
No need to invite your racist uncle to Bluesky, basically.

I don't use Bluesky, but any platform that restricts Uncle Obama-is-a-Jeehad-Muzlam is a decent one.
