This reminded me of a friend who talked about how he’d reached the age where he would narrate things that he did out loud, like grunting, “Well, I’m getting up from my chair now.”

I wonder how many of us have started doing this?

I am currently reading this thread on my phone with my glasses lowered on my nose, because I need bifocals now and am resisting getting larger frames to compensate. Soon I will need to cave and get huge, blocky, hipster glasses like all my older pals. I will join you all soon.

Tried 'em last year with my preferred frames and they gave me the worst headaches. Couldn't get used to them! I don't think the lenses had enough real estate to give each distance enough room to work.

It was a hurdle, but I actually like my 50 year old face more with the larger frames. went for the NOT CHUNKY HIPSTER FRAMES, as I'd tried the Malcolm X, Elvis Costello thing long enough ago to not want to repeat it.

Hearing present-day rap and thinking, "This is fucking horseshit."

I'm overdue for glasses. It doesn't seem that long ago that during an eye test a doctor told me I have "ballplayer vision".

I've realized that I dislike a lot of present-day rap, except for a few people (billy woods, Kendrick and Tyler, The Creator are ok), I think part of it is because it's not much fun anymore. Too many these days talking about their feelings.
