you have to see them live.

I don't dispute that in any way, shape or form. I know French Kiss records is having a showcase at SXSW. I am hoping Les Savy Fav is on that the bill and I am in attendance.

Possibly the BEST live band I have ever seen. They played in a basement art gallery to about 150+ people (it also happened to be the first show of my old band) on a tour with Pretty Girls Make Graves. By the end of the third song. there wasn't a divide of band and audience, it was just people dancing in amongst the band. The bass player ended up standing on my bass rig for the rest of the set.

Also, the song "Yawn, Yawn, Yawn".

Amazing.

I am listening to the song "Patty Lee." I am regretting the years spent trying to make original music.

I saw them open for The Dismemberment Plan, making the Plan look sedate in comparison.

They just do not book bills like that anymore.

LSF are awesome. Emor is my favorite overall. Dishonest Don (the good part) is one of my favorite songs. I've only witnessed Harrison's stomach once, it would be more, but they tend to play 21+ and 18+ shows.

I feel that way after listening to probably 80% of their catalogue, at least.

I am realizing the ambiguity of my statement, now that I am trying to understand Dr. Awkward's response.

What I meant is that I do not find them to be exciting or new. Doc?

Oh. I misunderstood you then. Because my response was an implication that occasionally, when listening to them, i feel like they are so good that trying to make music on my own is pointless, because i will never be this awesome.

Well, let me listen to more and form a better opinion. I don't wanna shoot them down yet, but I haven't heard anything that really stood out for me that wasn't too much like the Pixies or something.
