Not Crap :WF: 4

Better than eating most other fast food, but still way too much sodium in the meat.

When Subway first came in to town, I remember they used to cut a V-shaped trench on top of the bread instead of just cutting it like a normal person would. Everything would hang out the sides. You wound up handling about 60% of the sandwich ingredients before it went into your mouth.

Suburpia, a small local chain in the 70's, was far superior.

the sandwich he had them make was just a ton of everything plopped together, like ALL the turkey and bologna they had sitting there and a ton of lettuce and tomatos and cheese

"Is that for here or to-go?"

Fucking Christ. Ben and I just got the Feast from Subway, which consists of pepperoni, ham, roast beef, and salami. Each 6" half weighs about as much as my head and I don't even want to delve into the sodium levels.

It is and was tasty. I'm a fan of the Spicy Italian as well.

It's rank, but often the best of a bad lot. Some are better than others.

Many times I have been hungry and yummed down on a Subway on the way to this or that bar.

Panera>Jimmy Johns>Cousins>Quizno's>Subway.

These are all trumped by any good independent sandwich/takeout restaurant which puts good fresh ingredients together for a decent sandwich.

I'm a huge fan of the BMT on italian bread, toasted, light on the mayo, light on the lettuce, add jalapenos.

Fuck Quizno's
The last time we went in we did not look at the prices and just ordered some shit, me and the wife...not a ton of shit, just two sandwiches and drinks and maybe a bag of chips....the dude rings it up and he says '$17.50'
$17.50 for two shitty sandwiches and cokes and a little bag of doritos. We just started lauging and left, fuck that noise, let the people working there eat 'em.

Subway is decent, but not much more. I still eat there fairly once in a while, if I want fast food, but not the shits.

Quizno's is excellent. Unfortunately they closed the one in Ballard.

This is the correct answer.

For those who haven't tried Quizno's, you're in for a treat. It's delicious. They slice their meats fresh every day, so they actually have flavor instead of that non-taste that is the perennial hallmark of Subway's meats. Their vegetable selection is admirable. Their array of special sauces really gives their subs a spicy kick. And the sandwiches are toasted to perfection.

I can't explain how much better Quizno's is. For someone like me, who hates 95% of all food produced by fast food/chain restaurants, I was really bowled over by how good Quizno's is. And it's almost exactly the same price, give or take a buck or two.

Subway: we used to have a lengthy relationship together, but I just don't think I can see you anymore. We're incompatible. I've taken up with someone new. I hope you can understand.

Yes, it's the best that Subway has to offer. But *so fattening*, good God.
