I've not flown Zoom, but Gatwick is fine to fly into. It's further out, but the train will get you into Victoria Station in about 30 minutes. It's very reliable. Meaning, if you need to be at the airport 2 hours before departure, and you leave Victoria 3 hours in advance, you will stroll to your gate.
Getting to and from Victoria is relatively easy. One stop to the West or North and you're on the Picadilly Line, which takes you right through the heart of the city.

I have flown Zoom. It was a flight to Vancouver... That ended up as 18hours of hell. London, Belfast (!), Manchester(!!), Calgary and eventually Vancouver. With plenty of sitting around on runways waiting for pilots and fuel and clearance to fly.

It was super cheap though.

Speaking of Lewisham, I'd say avoid brick lane for curries as unless you know where your going its food based Russian roulette. Head to Euston to Drummond st. for a dosa and some Indian sweets, tooting for ace curries a-go go, Angel for the internationally renowned £3 all you can eat Curry buffet or better yet head to Lewisham to Arru Suvai for one of the closest places to an actual Indian 'meals' joint you'll find in old London town (and probably my favourite place to eat in London).

Edinburgh is nice.

Here are some of the things we did last month:

Shakespeare's Globe

Westminster Abbey

St. Paul's Cathedral

The London Eye

Big Ben/Houses of Parliament

A long walk (actually like 3 long walks) along the Thames.

Oxford Street for shopping etc.

Piccadilly Circus/Leicester Square for shopping and eating.

Hyde Park/Kensington Palace

Wimbledon.

Of the week we spent in England we basically only had 3 days in London so we had to try to cram a lot in. But I didn't do/see anything in London that didn't rule. Even going to church (at St. Paul's) ruled.

Even church doesn't suck in London.

It's £23 for a week for zones 1 & 2 . It can be cheaper to pay as you go, by using a pre-paid oyster card though if you're not making a lot of journeys.

It you're doing loads of things in Central London, the buses are generally cheaper (if you use an Oyster card), and it helps you get your bearings. Plenty of stuff is walking distance - tourists tend to take the tube unessesarily and don't realise that things are close by. The tube map distorts the distances between things to make them fit a design. Buy a decent A-Z and you'll get a better idea.

For a day - Off peak Zones 1&2 is £5.10 and Off Peak Zones 1-4 is £5.70.

Any recommendations if you want to spent a night out?
Last week I was visiting my girlfriend who moved to London a month ago and we wanted to go out and have a couple of drinks.
We only found bars that played hideous music with terrible people queuing in front. So we ended up at the nearest Off Licence and got drunk at home.
She asked the people she works with but the didn't seem to know if there were any decent places for girls who like Indie rock.
Where do you Londoners go at night?
