I just remember them as Cheap Trick wannabes who only fit the bill because they had a template. I feel sorta bad saying this because I heard they are really nice guys when they aren't on drugs.

Not crap, WF 9.83. I liked Supersonic Storybook plus a few other tunes like "Stull" and the fake Stones ones from Exit The Dragon; also, early drummer Kris Bataille wore Beatle boots in the third grade. Total crap live the one time I saw them, though; and we mustn't hold bands' fans against them, but a roomful of shitfaced frat boys singing "Sister Havana" is a hard memory to shake.

Details, please. Saw The Jesus Lizard there.
Basically three people showed up to the show besides me: Mike Eck, Sarge Blotto, and Char.
The Urge guys were not happy at all.
So they played three songs, and Nate either overloaded his amp and made it short out, or did something to break it. Ed said "That's it, no more" and they packed up.
Their van broke down while they were giving me a ride back to my house, so they ended up sleeping on my floor. In the morning I tried to help them fix the engine, but it was beyond my skillset, so they got towed. I think they had Johan Kugelberg with them as well, but I could be misremembering, since it was like 16 years ago.
16 years! Holy shit I'm old.

Despite major label fiasco I vote not crap.
I am fond of UO's Touch&Go years.
Their cover of 'Witchita lineman' (a soft spot still) sounds as good as Johnny Cash's version to me.
Urge Overkill recorded at least two very very good lp records.

i have a theory that you could make a really good anthology of this band from all of the albums.
under 80 minutes, the best tracks they did all together.
can anyone come up with a tracklist?

that looks pretty good, i'll assemble it.
i only have 'enter the dragon' and there are a couple of nice songs on there. they could write some good songs when they wanted to.
