Strymon makes a smaller one called Cloudburst that sounds pretty identical to that cloud mode to me and prob about 2 hundo less $

You could talk that down I bet if you were getting serious. A plate reverb is like a piano or a Hammond: really cool when you want it, but a giant anchor when you're ready to be rid of it.
An actual TMOOI! If you haven't heard this old chestnut, it sounds like a boat: 2 happiest days of a person's life, the day they buy the boat and the day they sell it.

Seriously though that's a fuck-load of real money. I mean it's super awesome and I get it, I'd love to have one myself, but I can also think of a lot more practical ways to spend that money in a studio. There are also DIY plate options now if you know anyone handy. Pretty successful too I'd say, check youtube. Might need to work w/ a metal shop to do the fabrication part, but that should still come in so so so much less than this asking price.

I think the main thing is that is a very niche and awkward item so unless you really plan to use the fuck out of it, pass.

You got a big van? You'd need one for an EMT. And a couple of strong buddies? 'Cause I'm here to tell you they are righteous heavy and getting one in the air enough to load it in a van sux. I may or may not know about such things having owned a moved a couple over the years. Yeah, an EMT 150TS sounds like the breath of God. Home studio guys used to book time with me just to run tracks though one of ours, but unless you're running a busy space they aren't too economical. That sound, though...

Gear adjacent.

Looked at an '88 Volvo 240 today. Older DIY type guy has had it for eight years or so, he's put work into it. Body work (looks ok) but removed the catalytic converter (and put on some weird running lights) which is kinda suspect to me. 211k miles. $3400.

Seems to run/drive pretty well for a 35+ year old car. Obviously gonna have some quirks and issues. Lots of extras included, relay, extra intake manifold, snow tires yadda yadda.

I drove an '87 for many years and miss it but don't want to make a nostalgia purchase. Not really.

Gotta be some Volvo nerds on the PRF?

That Brick is just getting broken in. In past times my wife had a 240 wagon that had well over 300k. If you need a cat for your area, they ain't cheap. Figure up to a grand for one installed.

I'm a bit of a vintage car geek and hang out at an auction site called Bring A Trailer. Here's a link to past 240 sales: https://bringatrailer.com/search/?view= ... olvo%20240
