First batch of Tshirts are done. Gildan 50/50 Military green heather with maroon ink. I'll be reaching out over the next few days to folks who already said they wanted one be sure I have correct info, etc. Looking at $15 plus a couple bucks to ship. Proceeds will help pay off the milling machine. PM, email, text, call or whatever if you want one.

Chris if your XL's are big, and you can be bothered, I'd love a shirt and would happily cover the shipping to the UK.

Mid-week progress update. First, I was able to bring the little orange mill back to life. It sounds like a box of gravel while running, but it will serve as a very precise and overbuilt drill press.

And the Bass VI is ready for a mock up. This is a smooth as an assembly has gone (touch wood)- so this weekend I hope to polish, tap the tuner and bridge holes and get close to finishing. I think I've learned what I need to learn from this one, and I need to pay bills. Let me know if you're interested and what you think it might be worth.

FYI, if you have trouble selling this Bass VI and you weren't previously aware, it might be worth checking out the Bass VI group on FB. Folks there seem to have an interest in the aluminum necks for these.

While I was doing all the fussy finish work on #8 and #9, I've also been doing the messy, loud, sort-of-fussy work of getting started on #10 and #11.

#10 is a standard DC with a cherry body- 25.5" scale. This will be a prototype for making things much lighter, I hope. will be routing away more of the wood, aluminum is being milled more aggressively, etc.

#11 will be a customer guitar. will share specs when we settle on them.

A nice week with a lot less day-job interruptions, so made good progress. #10 neck is shaped, sanded to #400, and the fretboard is glued up.

Also got the body sanded to #400- On this one I did a major route at the bottom to relieve weight. Will start the finishing process tomorrow.

#11 is coming along as well. Machining is done and starting to shape the neck. Body is routed away both top and bottom- again, hoping to really reduce weight.

Initially interested persons both flaked, so if you're interested in either, let me know, #10 is 25.5", #11 is 24.75.

I found the folks I want to have supply my fretboards- I've made my own from scratch and used a couple one-offs from a few companies- all have been fine, but I want to cut down on tedium and solidify specifications so I'm not doing so much last minute adjustment.

My personal preference is darker woods, rosewood, ebony, pau ferro. But how do you all feel about maple? I like the sustainability factor. It is the reason I've kinda settled on cherry for the bodies, generally.

I like richlite, for both sonic sustain (very dense) and sustainability. Also made just down the road in Tacoma. I haven't found anyone who makes richlite fretboards to custom specs. However, the factory I'm going to work with has a couple alternatives that are pretty exciting.
