The coolest true thing about me I can think of has very little to do with me, which is mildly pathetic, but here it is: I briefly dated an academy-award nominated actress five years ago when she took time off to complete her education at the university I was attending for grad school. Bright, beautiful woman I was extremely lucky to have spent time with, let alone see naked.


In other news, I fell off a twenty meter cliff when I had eight years old, and survived (obviously) with only a broken femur. I was a pliable child.

I speak five languages fluently (mostly latin-based, because they are essentially the same- I grew up in France, lived in Portugal, and so Italian and Spanish evolved easily from those two and English is obviously necessary) and have a rudimentary understanding of at least three others.



So many people here have won spelling bees. Maybe it's time for an EA competition. Who can still spell?

that damned fly, you play bass in Richmond, VA? We may know some of the same people. Some of them might even want to take a swing at you too.


- I played one-on-one with Michael Jordan for about 2 minutes when I was a kid at a basketball day camp in North Carolina.

- I was leaning against the Arc de Triomphe at midnight, December 31, 1999. I watched the Eiffel explode into light at the turn of the millenium with a couple hundred thousand people from around the world, drinking champagne poured into my bare hands from a magnum by a Bulgarian I'd never met.

- I've taken A LOT of hallucinogens and never once had a bad trip. In fact, with the exception of gnarly hangovers, I've never had a bad experience on drugs.

- I'm the only person I've ever met who can curl the sides of his tongue downwards into a tube shape. (Supposedly, 50% of people can curl their tongue upwards in a tube.)

- My very first tattoo was a 5-hour job that takes up much of my upper back.

- I can recite virtually every word of dialogue from Silence of the Lambs, Caddyshack, and probably a handful of other movies.

- I read The Lord of the Rings trilogy every year around my birthday. (Hang on...that's probably not all that cool.)

I also have won spelling bees. Nerd patrol!

I have won no spelling bees.

I've played with Glenn Branca, John Zorn, Leafcutter John (via satellite) and Hrvatski/Keith Fullerton Whitman - but I am terrified of playing my own stuff in a non-collaborative environment.

I have about 4 albums worth of stuff that will never be heard by anyone, if I can help it.

Everytime this thread comes up I really want to tell you about all this stuff I did but can't because it would be potentially dangerous and a dishonour to the people I did it with who are still doing it. So this is the surrogate post to stop me itching to tell you that stuff.

I'm the same. There's a certain government department whose eyebrows would raise if they read what I got up to when I worked there.
