Couldn't you get a better venue?

No, we couldn't.

Because no one gives a fuck about our band.

Would you have come if it was at a different place?

We're not joking here: we tried EVERY venue in Minneapolis and St. Paul. This was the last one we asked because there were no other options. I have about 105 emails between all of us discussing this. And we started booking 4 months ago. Needless to say, Minneapolis = haters.

This fall has been insanely packed with shows.

Don't feel bad, not too many years ago Shellac tried to book a show and the guy in charge of the venue said he never heard of them, and he asked his kid if he did and he didn't, so they couldn't book the joint.

I can't believe that you couldn't get in to Big Vs, Turf Club, Entry four months ago. But I suppose it's possible.

No, because I only hang out and play at the Cool Clubs. I played with Arcwelder and Flour Friday night, there were plenty of people older than me there and they didn't mention anything about it.

Why don't you tell me some details since you get this "AARP" information?
Where do I sign up?

You're telling me. We had a hold at Big V's for like 2 months, it seemed. Then at the last minute, no go. But at least you'll be there cheering us all on and handing us shots while we play to numb the pain. That would make the whole trip out there worth it. To just feel a little warmth in such a cold, cold city.

by the by, note to the non-milwaukee bands, the Borgward is the new cool all ages place in town one of the guys who books it is a old freind for the hi-fi, so if you need a little help let us/me know, we have not played there, but I have been to shows there and its really awesome...

It's true. We've had this planned since like June.

We tried every place in town, including Big V's, The Entry, and Turf, both of which we've played multiple times/had good turn out/are on good terms with.

We played the Triple Rock with HiFi the Sunday before Memorial Day, we were told they had 6 people through the door for the show the night before (Saturday) we got something like, what was it DJ, 110? We couldn't get back in for a Saturday in November with another awesome out of town band, with 6 months notice. WTF.

And I too noticed that they don't have it on their site. It is confirmed DJ and Mat. For sure. Sorry zom-zom has to rub it in that we couldn't come up with a better venue for this.
