There is a good documentary I recently rented. It is called "Orwell Rolls in His Grave". It covers a lot of the changes in laws that allowed corporations to completely control the "liberal" (ha ha ha) media.

Anyway, the whole reason that Rush exists is that Reagan passed a law that eliminated the requirement for broadcasters to promote opposing viewpoints. This initiated conservative AM talk radio and allowed Rush to be the bloated drug addict he is.

It also covers the 2000 and 2004 elections and how they were stolen (and it is not Nader's damn fault!).

I recommend watching it.

As for Matthew, I am OK with his opposing view point, even though the people he supports have passed laws to eliminate opposing view points. It makes debating much easier, doesn't it?

I also have a problem with Democrats, more in that they say anything to get elected, and then act like Republicans, except they throw a few bones to the prolies once in a while. My problem is not that they are too liberal. One has to separate what they say to get elected from what they do in office. I think after these mid term elections, everyone should know they were lied to. The Democrats used the war to get elected, and they continue to fund and support the war. They lie about health care, global warming, etc.

I find the fact that Gore made people drive to the theater and pay $10 to see a movie with PBS production values to be a bit ironic. And his $30,000 a year utility bill may be too inconvenient to give up. It is a failing of politicians and corporations that technology to reduce carbon emissions is continually sidelined. The people who are the audience of his motion picture do not have the power to make these changes. They can vote for Democrats and nothing much will happen.

I think it is still worth voting for the Democrats. They are the lesser of two evils. They, however, only talk liberal. They don't act liberal. Somehow, they manage to fool a lot of people, though...

Green is a much better party, but it is impossible to have a multi-party system with the way our government and electoral system is structured. I don't want to get too into this, but it is covered in most American Politics classes in college.
