Though I've never played one, I like the Gibson scale and I have always liked the look of them and the no frills design... and I am about to jump the gun on one that is priced-to-sell. Mostly curious about the quality: I have heard mixed reviews of Gibson quality control in recent times.
My spouse has one - it's got a raw sound, it's light as hell. It's made like total dogshit. Bad neck, bad frets, bad hardware. Had to do a lot to get it playable.
I hate playing it but I like recording it.

Still you can get lucky so go play it, and if it feels good have fun!

I don’t know that model, but 2000s Gibson could be all over the place. Best if you can hold it. I’ve played some really great guitars from that era.

... yet still
I struggle to answer if it was *ever* worth it for me. They sound good, but that's more power than I think I have ever needed. Certainly not worth the two repaired SVT-induced hernias I have.

Nowadays most of my playing out has a backline, and I generally make do with whatever is available (its usually pretty okay). In the practice space I play bass out of a head I built which is 2xKT88 for something near 100W and I find it to be just fine volume wise. In the rare occasion where I need to bring it out to play a show its good for stage volume and anything else can go through the PA.

Thank you, that's what I needed to hear - I'm playing normally out of a 2xKT88 head as well, and it sounds amazing. It's anything I would need, and I still have to turn down at practice. It's heavy but manageable Myself from 10 years ago, feels crazy I would pass up a deal on an old SVT. But I will. I must!

My piano brain sees that metal pedal and positive association just makes me feel like it sounds so good. I know there are unique specs/tech under the hood but I can't help but wonder if a lot of the best sounds can't be matched with a good reverb and delay.
