Sorry - I wanted to put a disclaimer after this point. There are good reasons to like Zappa. I don't like Zappa (as a musician), but I don't have a grudge against anyone solely for liking Zappa. But - and I think you have to admit this - Zappa is one of those artists that some people like because they see liking Zappa as evidence of cleverness. Again, that's not the only reason to like Zappa, but it's a reason, and so when you see someone who is in love with his own cleverness, and he likes Zappa, the connection becomes plausible...
