Got some stuff off my plate the other week and am finishing up the sixth Wallander book soon, so I've got no excuse to not be glued to postseason baseball.

Weather's getting more agreeable. Feeling okay today.

Just saw Black MIDI. Left half way through. Man I really do not care for what they’re doing nowadays. I’m quite fond of the stuff they did when they were a two guitar band. Also the sound was terrible, not a great help.

I love when I come across a collection of writeups from one person where it becomes obvious they have some specific hangup that they return to again and again.

Right now I am reading through this one guy's imdb reviews, and he is very distraught over the obvious dominance of nazi ideology in every cinematic product since the 1960s. Proof of this is how often dark haired women are killed. The reviewer hints that this is because other people are jealous of dark haired women, since they are the most beautiful.

More than once, it is suggested that these components make a movie into a "chick flick", which is meant to depress men. Unclear how this goes together.

Also many of the examples brought up are random bottom-of-the-barrel TV movies like Mega Python vs. Gatoroid and Piranhaconda.

I eventually wrested myself from this obsessive reading, but not after finding mr. reviewer topping himself with this comment:
"if one reads through the existing reviews, one cannot help but realize that over half of the reviews are carbon copies to the extent that it is undeniably the work of one control freak using many fake user names."

I am so curious about the headspace and life experiences of a person like this.

Flew down to Austin, Texas yesterday. My girlfriend had been here for a couple of weeks caring for her mom, who had been on hospice. Haven't been in Texas in 28 years, and that was just a drive-through on my way from Los Angeles to Milwaukee. Drove past the massive new Tesla plant they're building. Everyone is saying I chose the right week to be here with regard to the weather. I'm not sure "chose" is the right word, but I'm grateful it's not in the 90s and humid.

i searched netflix for "wolf" because of this full moon lately and found the bear grylls interactive movie game and its awesome!± omg you get to decide how he survives and i did awesome because of girlscouts.
spoilers now:
since it was sunset i chose to go build shelter and was able to melt ice for water in the morning and stumbled on fresh meat somehow .. then i survived the wolf up the mountain and each time the bear kept being whiny about altitude id say 7 year olds chewing on cocaine coca leaves in macchu picchu do this all the time keep it movin.. i know from santa fe that altitude sickness isn't as bad as he's complainin about and i know he has the skills the bear went over the mountain so get over that mountain bear gryllis it's the only way we can communicate by radio to the pilot , he made me let him rest but then i said cmon and we did climb to the peak tip and have that amazing view and find the pilot on the way down and he survived my bear attack advice to bassilone and take the offensive and we walked outta there.. then my roommate played and went to his beloved tunnels he kept comparing at me for not going but who knows what civilizations or mountain lions live there i only needed to climb the mountain and i did and the tunnels make you choose to eat bugs or get exploded or break your leg and the pilot doesnt survive so i was right to press on and climb da mountain

After a day and a half of bureaucratic madness I'm now slumped on an overnight in the truly hellish Helsinki airport. Fingers crossed I'll get back to Manchester in the morning, and to my mum's by noon. Probably left it a bit to let to see her off but it's the best I could possibly do.
