Nice eye. Took me a minute to find the single black band.

Automated assembly. There are machines out there that can bend leads and insert resistors into the PCB, so it's easier to have your jumpers be resistor-shaped so they'll fit the machine.

For surface-mount designs, 0 ohm resistors are used very frequently, for the same reason.

That totally makes sense...although some of the "magic" is now gone as I originally thought of it as more of a Funk Logic kind of design almost like a prank or secret super-inside joke. I reckon in Dr Balls case it still is though? Love it. ok magic is back

I read of TGP the carbon comp zero-ohm resistors sound best. Is that true?

I'm pretty sure they are where the mojo is held

Balls VIP-30 combo. The circuit is kinda like an AC30, but the normal and brilliant channels merge *before* the Vox top boost, kinda like a jumpered plexi (oh and no tremolo channel, either). Normal and brilliant volume controls to blend the two signals, full tone stack, and a *proper* master volume to allow adjustment for all use cases. 1x12 with a Celestion Vintage 30. Rock 'n roll dream machine.

Yeah.. I realize it's a bit irrational to like (and to build?) brand new combo amps but Hot Damn.
