Ultrasound, on Hulu. Do not watch the trailer, just watch the film. Low-budget sci-fi FTW. Has its flaws, but for something that looks like it was shot for less than $10k, pretty damned good.

The Rehearsal, Nathan Fielder's new show:
YES. First episode did not disappoint, and knowing how these shows go will only get weirder and more elaborate as they go.

(the Fielder-produced How To With John Wilson on Max is also great, haven't seen that mentioned on the board yet)

Obviously not going to go into details or spoilers, but last night's Better Call Saul was devastating in ways I was not expecting. I don't know how to react to it.

Re: most recent episode of Better Call Saul

I'm left amused, but scratching my head.

My wife fucking hated it. Equated it to the Breaking Bad episode "Fly".

My daughter, who hasn't been watching the show, watched it out of context and loved it.

hi nerds! been lurking a bit, but hey... here i am.

we decided we're only gonna have 1 streaming thing going at a time, trying to spend less time staring at screens. currently on the hulu and i am really grateful that Reservation Dogs got picked up for a second season. watched the 2 episodes that posted today and yeah... they still got it. hits all the right notes for me.

other recent faves:
finally caught up with Atlanta, looking forward to season 4!
Pen15 was wild.
Summer of Soul fucking wrecked me, so beautiful and inspiring.

Absolutely loved Olivier Assayas' remake/reimagining of his '96 film IRMA VEP as an eight episode series on HBO. The original IRMA VEP was one of my favorite films in high school (even owned it on VHS!), so I'm really not sure how someone who's not a big fan of the film and knows something about the current state of cinema vs. TV, platforms vs. creators, franchise films vs. art house, etc will get out of it, but I was absolutely rivetted, especially as it interweaved aspects of Assayas' own life.

All My Friends Hate Me

British horror-comedy that revels in discomfort. A millennial reunites with old college friends for a birthday in the country, and immediately begins to believe that they are out to get him. Super dark psychological trip. I quite enjoyed it. On Hulu

Netflix

The Sandman

I'm 4 episodes into the 10-episode first season. I'm curious what other people here think, because so far I'm finding it to be okay, but not a must-watch or anything like that.

^ I've been really enjoying it. I'm only 3 episodes in.

I can tell how closely Gaiman was involved because it somehow has his distinctive flavor which is an impressive jump from page to screen. All of the stuff of archetypes and gods is fun to me. Plenty of solid acting so far and a lot of the visuals are pretty gret.
