i don't mean to beat a dead snake, but the official site has a nice new logo:
which hopefully disproves the rumors that the movie is going through a name change battle (see IMDB, where it was briefly changed to S.O.A.P.)

332Todd Louiso!!! I just realized that Todd Louiso is in Snakes on a Plane! Fuck yeah. I was an extra in High Fidelity and stood between him and Jack Black for about 20 minutes while they pretended to play pinball at the Rainbo. Nice guy, and likable actor.
Which brings me to my idea for a game: Get to Know Your Snakes on a Plane Supporting Cast. List a brief bio and no more than 3 films/shows/productions that he/she has been in. Here goes:
Todd Louiso, credited as Price in S.O.A.P., was born in 1969 in Cincinnati, OH. He graduated high school from the School for the Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended there from 4th grade until graduating in 1988. Immersed in the entertainment industry from a young age, he was born to a dancer/choreographer father and singer/producer mother. A compact player usually sporting a shaved head, Louiso essayed a variety of characters and was most effective in evincing through physical as well as verbal performance the innate awkwardness of characters uncomfortable in their own skin. Some of his work includes:
The Cutting Room (2001) as Jason
Jerry Maguire (1996) as Chad the Nanny
8 Heads in a Duffel Bag (1997) as Steve

were you the guy who had to stop himself from scremaing "i was on the 18th hole" when jack black tilted the pinball machine? i remember reading that thread about high fidelity and cracking up at the thought of going through with that mr. show reference.
Darryl Quon is credited as "Man in Suit." He's sometimes credited as Darryl Quan / Daryl Quan / Daryl Quon. Apparently he wasn't ever born. At least, not according to the fine folks at IMDB. He has a list of 50 movies in which he's performed stunts, and he's acted in twenty six "thingies" (that's the correct term for a movie/tv show, right?), including:
Futuresport (1998) (TV) .... HILO Thug
Crash and Byrnes (1999) (TV) .... Jing-Quo
"Viper" (1999) TV Episode .... Nezu
Tail Lights Fade (1999) (as Darryl Quan) .... Thug #2
Mob Princess (2003) (TV) .... Harry salote
Hiro (2005) .... Bigger Yakuza
My guess? Mr. Quon is of the Asian persuasion.

Perhaps.

I can only imagine the storyline of this show - Detective Jack Byrnes has 1 month til retirement, but his new hot-head partner Chris Brash (nicknamed Crash) has a few things of his own to teach the veteran.
Oh, this is also a bump.

336TAGWORLD AND NEW LINE CINEMA TEAM FOR SNAKES ON A PLANE SOUNDTRACK CONTEST Winning Song To Appear In Film And On Film’s Soundtrack AUSTIN, TX (March 16, 2006) -- Online ecosystem TagWorld (www.tagworld.com) and New Line Cinema have joined forces to launch a unique music contest tied to the upcoming New Line film Snakes on a Plane, the companies jointly announced today at the SXSW Festival. The contest, which launches today, gives musicians the opportunity to have a song featured in Snakes On A Plane – which opens August 18 - and on the film’s official soundtrack. Interested artists can submit songs by logging on to www.tagworld.com/snakesonaplane. Submissions will be received through April 11 and the contest is open to all genres of music. “There are thousands of talented musicians in the world who have a hard time getting their music in front of record labels, let alone studios and filmmakers,” says Jason Linn, Executive Vice President of New Line Records. “We’re thrilled to hear their submissions and are confident that there’s a song out there that will be a perfect fit for an exciting movie like Snakes on a Plane.” The TagWorld community will vote on submitted tracks and narrow the competition down to 25 finalists. From there, the Snakes On A Plane filmmakers will choose the winning selection. TagWorld member voting commences on April 19 and continues through May 23, with New Line announcing the winner on June 1. “Snakes On A Plane is already receiving a lot of online buzz and we are excited to extend this opportunity to the TagWorld community to help artists get more exposure,” says TagWorld President Evan Rifkin.
holy shit. if one of us doesn't get our music involved, i will be very displeased. tagworld is a beta site similar to myspace -- as such, it keeps giving me "unexpected error" when i attempt to access the 'snakes on a plane' section... will continue to try using different browsers and platforms. we need our music represented in snakes on a plane.

I think their website's fucked up, because when i click on their homepage's SoaP graphic, i go to a default error page.
Chances are some crap-assed nu-metal band is going to win the contest, because that's the kind of stuff action movies are fueled on. But i'm still gonna submit something of ours. Someone needs to submit a version of Stan Bush's "The Touch" or "Dare" from Transformers: The Movie.

You've got the touch
You've got the power
Yeah!
After all that's said and done
You never walk, you never run
You're a winner!
Got the moves, you know the streets
Break the rules, and take the heat
You're nobody's fool
You're at your best when the flight gets rough
You've been put to the test, but it's never enough
You've got the touch
You've got the power
When all snakes are breaking loose,
you'll be riding the eye of the storm
You've got the heart
You've got the motion
You know when things get too tough
You've got the touch
You never bend, you never break
You seem to know just what it takes
You're a fighter!
It's in the blood, it's in the will
It's in the mighty hands of steel
When you're standing your ground
And you never get bit when your back's to the wall
Gonna fight to the end, and you're taking it all
You got the touch
You got the power
Touch!
