What Are You Listening To Right This Second?
332The Hold Steady - Separation Sunday
It reminds me of a line from Trainspotting - something to the effect of "I'm sick ah this new Elvis Costello but I cannae stop playing the fucker." Only instead of Elvis Costello, it's the Hold Steady. Sick of it!

Why do you make it so scary to post here.

333Poster Children - "Love" - from the 'Daisychain Reaction' album (comparing my old Twin/Tone CD pressing against the Sire/Reprise reissue that I finally broke down and bought based on this fact brought to light by Mr. Weston)
I believe it is testament to how damn tight the Pkids are/were that I can almost not confirm to my own ears that these are two different takes... but maybe once I hit the headphones...)

No. I believe the cowbell is not overdubbed. I know most of the band played and were recorded in the basement, while HR sang out in the backyard. I don't know where the cowbell was, but I don't think it was overdubbed. I don't think anything was.
I'm listening to the Residents. Loss of a Loved One.
"This is the sad part. Oh, its such a saaad paaaart."

Hmmm. Pretty good.
Pandora, she surprises me sometimes.
Why it's on the Roxy Music station, I don't know.

337Flamethrower by the Chicago Underground Trio.
I dug this one out for work having not listened to it since around the time it came out. I'm happy about it.
Next up: More Moondog

Beautiful Loser is an underrated record. Cross your fingers and hope that "Jody Girl" turns up next.

340New Lemonheads single,
slots nicely in-between Creator and Lick.
Much less like the entirely shameful It's A Shame About Ray, which is a really good thing.
And what I hoped for once I heard that Dando cribbed All's rhythm section for the new record.
Next: Mogwai's Mr. Beast.
