tocharian wrote:All this talk about Crime and the City Solution and the Birthday Party has got me wondering: does anyone have anything by Sprung Aus Den Wolken? When I tried to look them up on Allmusic.com, the only album listed for them was "Early Eighties Tracks". Plus they were classed as "world music" (because they're German, perhaps?).

"Pas Attendre", which is on the Wings of Desire soundtrack, is a fantastic song and I'm thinking there has to be some still extant stuff by this band. Anyone?

Anyone?

I have almost all their other records but it's very different from this track. The music of the two tracks from this single (Pas attendre and Que Pa) were written by Alex Hacke who was not a permanent member.
The previous records sound more like early Neubauten, I read somewhere this is "industrial dub", whatever that means. The following record is much more danceable, I don't listen to it anymore. My girlfriend who loves pas attendre hates this record. So, tell me if you're still interested and I'll try to upload some records in a few days.

Oh happy day!! Yes, that would be amazing.

Luciano Cilio - Dell'Universo Assente / Die Schachtel / 2004 / In print
Treading a similar path in sparse, Feldman-ish forms this collection from 2004 heralded the rediscovery of Luciano Cilio who sadly committed suicide in 1983. His small output consists of very personal, exquisitely arranged pieces and some experiments into long, sustained sounds that wouldn't sound out of place next to some of the more mournful, introspective tracks on the first This Heat LP.

"these recordings sound as they feel self contained, introspective, and determined, you can feel in the music a sort of necessity that can be rarely found, as in bill fay's "time of the last persecution", or in nick drake's "pink moon": this enormous weight that is bearing on it's creators, the absolute need to exorcize it from their lives, a moment in time where you are invited to hear artists truly in contact with their existence. luciano cilio holds that moment in time, an authentic emotional testament, something to be cherished" - Jim O'Rourke

Wow. I'm listening to this now, and it's really something. Thanks for this, cjh!

Any of you guys remember me posting some records by a band called Early Lines from Plano, Texas?

Here's a really beautiful solo record from one of their members by the name of Seth Sherman. He's an outstanding song writer and an even more outstanding guitar player. I strongly recommend checking it out if you're at all into the likes of John Fahey or Daniel Gibbs.

I believe he's in the midst of planning a tour for next year. Check it out-

Well, shit. Even though the SendSpace check says I'm not on a proxy, my work must use a shared IP. Every SendSpace link I click on tells me I'm already downloading a file.

No more EA SendSpace thread for me. At least not during the day.

Could someone post the complete Vince Guaraldi Charlie Brown Christmas album this year?

I can do even better than that!

http://davesworld56.blogspot.com/

He's got it there, along with a shite-load of pretty amazing Christmas albums. I'm esspecially enjoying torturing my co-workers with the ludicrous "Pac-Man" Christmas album.

Happy Festivus, y'all.

Now for the airing of grievances!

sweet. this list has it all. chipmunks, carpenters, cptn kangaroo...

shitting hell. thanks!

A bit down this page http://theeheadveins.blogspot.com/ is a link to the 'Merry Christmas' album by The Sonics, The Wailers and The Galaxies.

I've been looking for it for a while, ever since Redline and others talked about it in another Christmas songs thread.
This link may only work for another couple of days, but I'll be happy to sendspace it if people want.
