I was there! I had just waited tables at an Italian joint on Diversey and Clark called Cucina Bella in a Star Trek TNG costume and wore it to Lounge Ax. At the end Yow said "Ever get the feeling you've been cheated?" just like Rotten did at the last Sex Pistols show in LA. I was slightly bummed not to hear Shellac songs only because at that point I had only seen them once or twice. Of course by now I have seen them at least a dozen times so I got over it quickly.

Loved Vish's show. I dig all his shows though so there's that.

Really diggin To All Trains too. I was under the impression that the title was a salute to trains. Like something you'd say after raising a glass in the air.

And it was a nod to country albums about trains.

Kinda miss this place now though. There was legit entertainment happening here years ago. That was fun.

sigh

I interviewed FM steve twice in my life. Once in 1991 https://archive.org/details/mrr_112/pag ... ew=theater

And again in 2006 https://grahamhick.bandcamp.com/album/a ... circa-1980

At the second interview it was at EA and as I was waiting for everything his Bean was on the couch in the second floor lounge and I grabbed it and played "A Minute" on it. It was such a thrill to play that guitar and to play a favorite Shellac song I knew how to play. Not even plugged in just casually discarded on the couch.

I told FM steve a little later what I had done and his response was "That doesn't scare me".

I thought that was the joke. Like somebody in the band saw the sign and enjoyed the double meaning. Is that not the case?

My copy is delayed in the post but for now I am appreciating the precision symmetry of the photo cover. Absolutely bang on ; just look at those corners. Tis a fine cover indeed, up there with Terraform and E.I. Greyhound.
