I would be afraid of them being made anywhere close to the same way as the Epiphone Dots which I've never heard sounding anything good, and contain enough sharp edges to kill a whole family

Yeah, the fretwork on the Epi Dot I had 10 years ago was dogshit. Fret ends were sharp as hell and the frets were so soft they felt scratchy if you bent a string. I polished the shit out of those frets to no avail. I didn't have the tools to deal with the fret ends though.

Having said that. I played something from their Professional series (with this headstock shape) once and it didn't suck. Was an SG though, and I think that series used to be Japanese made.
